TEAMS

TEAM RULES

TEAM DEFINITION

  • Teams are comprised of two (2) or more riders. The maximum number of riders on a team is unlimited.

  • Team members must notify the timers which team they are on. A rider not part of a team will be categorized as an individual.

  • There can be multiple teams from the same organization (example: TRG Team 1, TRG Team 2). But these teams will be competing against one another.

  • There are no gender/age/political affiliation/spandex size/etc.-based team categories. A team is a team. Humans only please.

  • Teams do not have to ride together or eat together. But having a team may lend itself to drafting strategies and/or donut consumption encouragement. Hint. Hint.

  • A person cannot be categorized as an individual AND a team - it's one or the other.

SCORING

  • Team averages will be taken for overall time and number of donuts eaten to calculate the TEAM Overall Fastest Time - Donut Adjusted.

  • Each team member is required to make the mandatory stop for check in at each donut shop.

  • Teams will use the same donut time values as individuals. Donut time values are announced the day of Tour de Donut.

  • If a member of a team finishes outside the 2.5 hour time cutoff, their time will not be included in the overall team scoring.

  • Each rider must eat their own donuts. Donuts may NOT be shared amongst team members (John).

DISQUALIFICATION

  • If anyone on the team cuts the course, fails to make the mandatory donut sign in stop, barfs prior to crossing the finish line, or fails to meet any other Tour de Donut rules, the entire team is disqualified. Exception: if a team member finishes outside the 2.5 hour time cutoff, their time will not be included in the overall team scoring.

RIDER RECOGNITION

  • Teams will be competing for one category: TEAM Overall Fastest Time - Donut Adjusted. Individuals within teams are not eligible for individual overall awards (no double dunking).
